Stewarding the Supernatural in the Night Season

"And afterward,
I will pour out my Spirit on all people.
Your sons and daughters will prophesy,
your old men will dream dreams,
your young men will see visions."Joel 2:28

God has given us a promise that in the generation before the return of Jesus Christ, He would begin to increase His communication to His church through dreams and visions.  This is one of God's end-time means of giving his church strategy and understanding so that we stay close to Him. Some dreams are random and foolish. Sometimes our psyche has to process the movie we just watched or is tumultuous, because of bad digestion. But, as humans, we tend to err on the side of believing that all of our dreams are a result of "too much pizza". If God has important communication to give us through our dreams, then we must begin to take a closer look at them, write them down, and get understanding what is being communicated.

God dreams are written in God language, and are given in symbolism. They are a snapshot of life, usually yours, that gives insight about what is going on in your life. By understanding common Scriptural symbolism, we can begin to understand our dreams much better. Although much information is available in the world concerning interpreting dreams, we must carefully examine and line up all of our interpretation with the absolute truth of God's Word. By journaling your dreams, consulting trusted resources for dream symbolism, meditating with the Holy Spirit, and discussing them with spiritual people, we can receive much insight from the Lord. As we begin to steward our dreams, dream activity almost always increases.

If you have had a dream that you believe is from the Lord, and would provide encouragement and insight to others,  you can submit it to be included in the dream blog.   Simply fill out the form below and submit it to Crazy Love. Not every dream is included.  Don't take it personally.  Some dreams may be deemed to be of a more personal nature that should be between you and God, rather than something that should be shared.  By sumbmitting your dream for consideration to be shared, you give Crazy Love International the permission to publish it on the website as well as share it in other formats.

General Guidelines for Stewarding Dreams

I. Determine the Source of Your Dream

A. Random foolishness-- nothing to see here

B. Demonic attack-- discernment and appropriate spiritual warfare is necessary here.

C. The soul's personal processing of emotions-- for example your psyche processing the trauma of watching a too-             violent movie.

D. Revelation from the Lord-- write this dream down carefully, and read on...

II. Determine to who the dream refers

A. First, examine yourself to see if the dream can apply directly to you. A dream is usually both for and about the one who dreams it. God uses dreams to reveal our own hearts, about which we are usually, happily, but dangerously ignorant.

B. Often God uses other people to represent different aspects of ourselves. Their words and actions (how we view them or feel about them) can reveal hidden virtues, faults, or sins abut ourselves that we are simply ignoring or have completely justified.

C. Occasionally, our dreams may be for someone else we know or contain a message for our own company of believers, or the church at large.

III. Determine what the dream is really about

A. Most commonly, God communicates to us about our personal journey with Him

B. God also communicates to us concerning our relationship with Him, our jobs, our health, and our relationship with others.

C. X-rated dreams can reveal an area that we are being attacked by the enemy, and/or the need for deliverance.

IV. The Unfolding of a dream

A. Usually the first scene or backdrop of a dream determines the subject of the dream

B. Subsequent scenes of the dream, progressively unfold the message as the dreamer is carried along, either as an observer or as a participant.

V. Important Things to Note when journaling a dream

A. Emotions: note how you felt in the dream as the scenes progress

B. Colors: Most dreams are in black and white. When you remember the color of something in a dream is it almost always significant.

C. Symbolic or Literal: for example a dream about a vehicle is not always about your vehicle, but is symbolic of your job or ministry. If everything in the dream is exactly the same as it is in real life, then it is most often literal.

D. Changeable or Unchangeable Outcome: prayer and repentance can very often change the outcome of a warning dream.

E. Repetitious Dreams or Concepts in a Dream: God often gets our attention through repetition, the more times we have the dream, the more important it usually is.

F. Symbolism: Jesus spoke in parables, and gave us a clear example for interpreting symbolic dreams.

1. Usually each thing in the dreams, has a symbolic meaning.
2. Scriptural symbolism is often used in dream language. For example, from Song of Songs that we may know that the eyes are a picture of our focus and devotion, or that wheat is used in the Bible as a symbol for the harvest of souls.
3. What we know from our own experience, becomes a part of our own dream language, for example, if you have had a good, godly father, he may represent the God the Father in your dreams, but if you had an abusive Father, he may represent something else entirely.
4. Understand the Dreams You Dream by Ira Milligan is a valuable handbook that contains some of the most common dream symbols.
5. Positive or Negative: One thing can have two meanings, such as "iron". Positively, it could denote strength; negatively, it could denote stubbornness. The context of the dream, feelings, and your impressions from the Holy Spirit help to define what aspect is being referred to in your individual dream.

Keep in mind that the same language you are learning from God as He speaks through you through His word, and through personal prophecy, is also used in His communication to you through your dreams and visions. The more we meditate on His word, the more discerning we will be in our areas of hearing from Him.
